Capacity building of health care professionals to perform interprofessional management of non-communicable diseases in primary care – experiences from Ukraine

Non-communicable diseases are leading causes of death and disability across the world. Countries with the highest non-communicable disease (NCD) burden in the WHO European Region are often those that have some of the greatest health system challenges for achieving good outcomes in prevention and care. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of an interprofessional capacity building intervention carried out in Ukraine to improve the management non-communicable diseases in primary health care.

Associations between person-centred care and job strain, stress of conscience, and intent to leave among hospital personnel

Hospitals have experienced difficulty in retaining qualified healthcare personnel. Previous studies have shown that working in a person-centred environment could offset this challenge, but research is scarce. The organisational and environmental support subscale of perceived PCC showed significant correlations with all explanatory variables, while the extent of personalising care subscale only correlated with job strain and intent to leave. Higher perceived PCC is associated with work-related factors in hospital departments.

Transforming health care: stories of changemakers across the world

This film weaves together and amplifies the stories from individuals and groups intentionally leading change, wherever they are situated in their respective ‘system’.
